Advertising and editorial disclosure
The short version
Free Cash Calculator is free to use and is supported by advertising, and it may earn a commission when you use certain outbound links. We keep two promises about that: money is always clearly labeled where it appears, and it never changes the math a calculator produces, the result it shows, or which calculators we build. We are an independent publisher with no bank, lender, or product company behind us, and nothing here is financial advice. This page explains how all of that works.

1. Who runs this site
Free Cash Calculator is an independent publisher. No bank, lender, brokerage, or financial-product company owns the site, pays for coverage, or influences its calculators. This page exists so you always know when money is involved in something you see here.
2. How the site makes money
The calculators are free, and we intend to keep them that way. To cover the cost of building and running the site, we rely on two things: advertising, and affiliate commissions we may earn when you use certain outbound links. From time to time we may also publish sponsored content. Each of these is explained below, and each is labeled where it appears. We do not sell your personal information; how we handle data is covered in the privacy policy.
3. Advertising
The site is supported by advertising provided by independent ad companies. Our ads are contextual, which means they are chosen from the topic of the page rather than from a profile of your browsing across the web. Ads are clearly distinguishable from our own content and labeled as advertising. We do not control which specific ads appear, and an ad appearing next to a calculator is not an endorsement by us of whatever it promotes. Advertising money pays for the site; it does not buy influence over the math or over what we write.
4. Affiliate links
Some outbound links on the site may be affiliate links. If you click one and then take an action such as signing up or making a purchase, we may earn a commission from that company, at no additional charge to you in the typical case. An affiliate link is labeled where it appears, so you can tell it apart from an ordinary link. We only ever link to something because we think it is genuinely relevant, and a commission never changes the math a calculator produces, the result it shows, or our not-advice stance. If a page contains affiliate links, it will say so near the links.
5. Sponsored content
If we ever publish content that a company has paid for or provided, we will label it clearly as sponsored or as a paid partnership, and we will name the sponsor. We keep editorial control of anything published under our name: a sponsor does not get to dictate our conclusions or dress an advertisement up as neutral editorial content. Sponsored material will always be recognizable as advertising before you engage with it.
6. Editorial independence
This is the core promise of the site. Advertising, affiliate, or sponsorship money never determines:
- the result a calculator produces or the formula it uses;
- which calculators we build or how we explain them;
- the substance of our guidance.
The math comes from a shared, tested library and is checked against independent reference calculations before a calculator goes live, and every page shows the formula it uses so you can verify it. You can read more on the methodology page. Commercial relationships pay for the site; they do not shape its numbers.
7. We do not rank or sell products
Worth stating plainly: Free Cash Calculator provides calculators, not ranked lists or reviews of financial products. We do not publish "best card" or "top lender" tables, and there is no placement, ranking, or score on this site that a company can pay to improve. That removes the most common way money quietly distorts a finance site. If that ever changes, we will disclose exactly how any ranking is decided and whether payment affects it, right next to the ranking.
8. Testimonials and reviews
The site does not use customer testimonials, endorsements, star ratings, or "verified user" quotes. If we ever add genuine testimonials, they will reflect real, honest experiences, any compensation or connection will be disclosed, and we will not present an unusual result as if it were typical.
9. How our content is written
In the interest of full transparency: the explanatory text on the site, such as the "how it works" sections, examples, and answers to common questions, is produced with the help of automated (AI) tools and then reviewed and refined. The calculations those explanations describe are not improvised by an AI; they are computed by a tested math library and checked against independent references, and most pages link to authoritative sources such as government agencies. The content is general educational information written under the Free Cash Calculator name, not the individualized opinion of a named professional. We do not use AI to invent fake people, experts, customers, quotes, or images, and we never present a machine-generated persona as a real person.
10. Financial disclaimer
Content on this site is for general informational purposes only and is not financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. Financial decisions involve risk. A calculator cannot know your full situation, and money is never involved in a way that would make a result "recommend" a product to you. Consult a qualified professional before acting on anything here. The terms of service cover this in more detail.
11. Accuracy and corrections
We work to keep both the math and these disclosures accurate. If you find a calculation that looks wrong, or a place where a commercial relationship is not disclosed clearly enough, please tell us and we will fix it. Report it through the contact page.
12. How this reads today
This page describes our full advertising and affiliate model so you know exactly how the site is funded and what to expect. Where a particular page currently shows no ads and contains no affiliate or sponsored links, there is simply nothing on that page to disclose. Where money is involved, it is labeled as described above. As advertising and partner links roll out, those labels appear with them.
13. Report a missing or unclear disclosure
If you ever see something on the site that looks commercial but is not clearly labeled, we want to know. Email hello@freecashcalculator.com or use the contact page, and we will review and correct it.
14. Changes and contact
We may update this disclosure as the site's funding evolves, and we will update the "Last updated" date when we do. Questions are welcome at hello@freecashcalculator.com or through the contact page.
